Vi klarte å overholde fristen i dag, og her er påmeldingsbrevet som nettopp er blitt sendt.

Teksten i brevet følger en "template" som vi fikk fra Kommisjonen, der det i tillegg til selve påmeldingen (der ordlyden i første avsnitt altså ble gitt av Kommisjonen), skulle oppgis hvem som kan kontaktes "for the preparatory actions". Dette fikk jeg ikke tatt opp med dere, men jeg har altså oppgitt Kim i Forskningsrådet, ut fra en forståelse om at dette dreier seg om "sherpa group" der Forskningsrådet ved Kim eller noen andre av dere fra NFR hittil har deltatt, med Gunnar som ekspert.

Med dette brevet bør Norge nå inkluderes i listen over deltakerland som skal inngå i konkurranseevnerådets vedtak om igangsettelse av EuroHPC JU, og Norge bør også inviteres til neste sherpa-møte – begge i slutten av september.

Jeg har bedt Kommisjonen bekrefte at Norges formelle påmelding er mottatt. Det kan være nyttig om dere også sjekker at vi er "in the loop" i sherpa-gruppens arbeid, for det tilfellet "prospective participants" ikke lenger skulle være invitert. Vi er ikke lenger "prospective"!

Please find enclosed the letter from Norway's Minister of Trade and Industry Torbjørn Røe Isaksen to Vice-President Andrus Ansip at the European Commission, formally expressing Norway's intention to become a founding member of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking.

If this letter has to be conveyed to the Commission and/or the Austrian presidency through other channels, please inform me as soon as possible. Otherwise, I will appreciate to receive a confirmation that the enclosed formal letter has been received in time before the deadline we had been given in the email below, which was today.

I am working with Mr Skordas and I am contacting you related to a possible decision of Norway to join the Euro HPC JU. I am not aware whether the Austrian Presidency (your message to Ms Schoder-Kienbeck below) has replied to you.  In the attachment you will find the letter that was sent from our services to your ambassador in Brussels  on 1 August and in which we are asking to reply by 7^th September whether Norway wishes to be listed as one of the founding members of the JU.

I will be grateful if you could let us know whether there are any news in this respect.
